It's 7:58 on a Sunday night and what is the one thing I'm thinking? Snow day. I've checked the weather 3 times already and even though the chances of the roads getting bad enough to close school tomorrow is not probable, I still have hope. So anyways, I got thinking about snow days and why exactly I love them so much. I think the best part of the whole ordeal is the moment when you wake up and see your school's name on the T.V. with "closed" next to it. Then you can go back to bed and when you wake up again, you can do whatever you want for the day. It's like, surprise, FREE DAY! Usually when I have a snow day I pretend like that it is impossible for me to leave the house. Even in the afternoon when the roads have cleared, I like to pretend that I am literally "snowed in". So for those of you who do have a snow day tomorrow (or any day in the future) I'm going to give you a few suggestions on how to spend it:
1. Play in the snow (obviously) then drink hot chocolate.
2. Watch netflix.
3. Read a book. (By the way, I'm currently reading Catcher in the Rye, any suggestions for when I'm done?)
4. Bake a cake.
5. Take a bubble bath.
6. Build a fort.
7. Move all the furniture in your room.
8. Have a spa day.
So as I sit here refreshing the weather website and looking intently at the radar, I'm thinking about how glad I am that I get to experience the beauty of snow days. It's really a magical thing. So I am off to take some NyQuil ( I'm sick :( ) and go to bed and when I wake up let's hope I get to experience the beauty of a snow day.

My very first blog.
Well, this is weird. I have been wanting to start my own blog for a long time now. I guess everyone's afraid of rejection though, huh? This anonymity thing is a pretty nice way to avoid that. I'm Z, by the way. Not much to tell other than I'm just trying to figure this crazy life out. You will probably learn about me as I blog, whether you want to or not. Oh and when I say "you" I guess I'm not sure who I'm talking to because in all honesty, I'm not sure that anyone will even read this. But let's hope.
Anyway, the topic of this blog is the simple things in life. I am a person who gets very excited over the simplest things. There are certain things that for some people mean nothing, but to me, they can be the best part of the day. For example, the feeling you get when you see the fuel level rise after you fill your car up is pretty awesome. Or wearing your favorite pair of jeans. Sleeping in clean sheets. Holding a new born baby. Dancing to your favorite song. Or kicking a block of ice off the bottom of a car. Finishing up a load of laundry. Baking a perfect cake. Tearing a paper of out a spiral bound notebook on the perforated lines. Ahhhhh. Life is good.
Stay happy,
Z.
